Q.  I am from a commonwealth country, do I need to write the TOEFL?
A.  Applicants from countries that are considered to be commonwealth, are exempt from the TOEFL.

Q.  I have a degree from an instution whose language of instruction is English, do I need to write the TOEFL?
A.  Applicants with a degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English, are exempt from the TOEFL.

Q.  Is the GRE a formal requirement for admission?
A.  Results of the GRE are not a formal requirement, but are encouraged.

Q.  How do I apply for funding?
A.  All students applying to the Department of Oceanography, are automatically considered for Dalhousie Graduate Fellowships, which are derived from University funding, and Faculty research grants.  Internal funding is limited, so students are encouraged to apply for external support from companies or government agencies (such as NSERC) whenever possible.
