Prerequisites: Phyc/Ocean 4411A/5411A and permission of the instructor.
The approach is the same as for 4411A/5411A, with emphasis placed on synoptic-scale wave phenomena, frontal motions, and the global circulation. An introduction to numerical techniques and their use in weather forecasting models and studies of climate is included. Additional special topics are covered at the discretion of the instructor.
