4200.06 — Honours Research Project

Prerequisites: This class is open only to students enrolled in the Combined Honours in Chemistry and Oceanography or the Combined Honours in Earth Sciences and Oceanography. Students enrolled in the Combined Honours in Marine Biology and Oceanography must enroll in BIO.
This class is required for those students in the honours programme. It will consist of a research project carried out under the supervision of a faculty member and will contain some original component on any aspect of oceanography. The results of the research will be submitted to the Department as a report that will be graded. The student must also make oral presentations of this work to the Department. Students wishing to enter this class must have an appropriate background in Chemistry or Earth Sciences and Oceanography, and thy must meet with the Co-ordinator of Honours projects before undertaking their project. The consent and signature of the Co-ordinator are required. In addition, a research supervisor must be identified amongst the faculty members of the Oceanography Department, and that person's written consent is also required.
